Life in the Sick Bay
So I was sick all day Thursday (yesterday). But that didn't mean anything. I called in to work , but then I worked on a research project, finalized my tape, went to the post office, got an oil change for my car, and practiced for 4 hours. I went over the Arts Academy to teach, but apparently they aren't starting classes again until next week. All this while enduring the terrible effects of Strep Throat. Marion stopped by our house after using our car and wanted me to drive her back to work but after she found out that I was sick, she wouldn't let me come within 10 feet of her. "You'll kill my baby!"Today a couple of men were over setting up a desk for my Mom when I came back from work. I have to drop off my tape with Mrs. V, teach a piano lesson, practice, write something, and then go to the symphony (at least I think I'm going to the symphony; I can't find Aaron or Lynette). I also have to dig up a faculty member to write me a recommendation.
I was just thinking: these have totally got to be the best years of my life; they just can't get any better than this! And I'm not even in Europe yet. I love being alive.

Loretta, I heard you're thinking about moving out... whatever the rent you found is, just add 100/month for utilities, phone, etc. Then add 200 for food and other essentials like TP, paper towels, cleaning supplies, lightbulbs, whatever. Then add another 100 for all the gas you'll use driving back home to do your laundry and eat free food. Then think about having to do everything for yourself. Oh, and then there's renters insurance... And if you're not living at home anymore you'll probably have to pay your own health insurance and car insurance too. Also, there's all those little things that you'll have to buy for yourself bcs they're not just lying around... shampoo, soap, makeup, laundry soap, etc...
Oh, and is this place fully furnished? Do you have pots, pans, etc...? Do you have a microwave or a TV or DVD player? Do you have a bed of your own? Hmmmm...
Just a few things to think about.
With Love from your sister and brother-in-law who care enough to tell you this. And if you don't listen beat you senseless till you agree to whatever it is they may desire for you.
These ARE the best years of your life! You get a Christmas break....forget that when you are a parent...you bring your job with you to parties and all! (Poor me, moan, groan, general self pity noises, etc.) Oh, and forget sleeping when you are sick!
